Ladysmith Minor Baseball is associated with BC Minor Baseball.  Baseball season runs from April to June.  All Star Baseball runs the month of July until the long weekend in August.

Ladysmith Baseball is run by a volunteer executive board. These board members consist of a president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. Also part of the executive are the division chairs, past president, registrar, field manager, umpire in chief and equipment manager. As per our constitution, we do have an Annual General Meeting that is advertised in the local paper.

PLAYING RULES.

Playing rules as per BC Minor rules. There will be no exceptions to this as we cannot supersede any BC Minor rule. www.bcminorbaseball.org/rulebook.aspx

COACHES CONDUCT.

During the regular baseball season, all coaches must give equal playing time to all players. They must not argue with the umpires. There is no smoking allowed at the baseball field. We encourage all of our coaches to be positive toward their players, the opposing team, the umpires and parents. Any baseball coach who gets ejected from a game may be subject to further discipline from Ladysmith Baseball and or from BC Minor.  Ladysmith Baseball encourages coaches to actively keep their baseball skills up to date by taking coaching clinics. These are offered free to any coach. Contact Ladysmith Baseball for more information about coaching clinics. Please ensure you have a team parent that has access to a cellular phone for medical emergencies. Inform them the phone number of the Ladysmith Health Center and the directions on how to get there.

FORMATION OF TEAMS.

All teams in Ladysmith Baseball will be formed via a draft system. Every effort will be made to accommodate players, parents and coaches requests but will not be guaranteed. If a draft system is not possible, then the division coordinator will form the team(s). Ladysmith Baseball discourages any player from "moving up in age category"  We encourage our coaches to "develop" their players and the best way to do so it to keep players within their respective age division.

PARENT CONDUCT

Ladysmith Baseball expects parents to help out their child's team during games.  Helping out in the concession, selling 50/50 tickets, raking and lining the baseball field, putting away equipment will be appreciated by your child's coach and Ladysmith Baseball. Ladysmith Baseball kindly asks all parents to refrain from "coaching" from the side lines.

AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM LADYSMITH MINOR BASEBALL

Welcome all players and parents!  We are looking forward to a great 2009 season of baseball and we thank you all for participating.

Ladysmith Minor Baseball Association (LBA) is committed to providing a fun venue for young people to learn about, and play the game of baseball.  We want this to be a positive experience for everyone involved.  LBA will do their best to ensure this.  LBA has many dedicated parents and volunteers that put in many hours to keep our assocation running smoothly. Please visit our website at www.ladysmithminorbaseball.com for a current list of executives.

As LBA mentioned, volunteers ae what keep our association alive.  We are always in need of new people stepping forward to lend a hand.  The volunteer positions are not difficult and can be learned as you go.  You will always have the support of the past and present executive members.  We are all just volunteers that want to help the baseball program continue.  If you are interested in becoming a volunteer with LBA, please contact an existing executive member.  We will welcome you whole heartedly.

If you cannot volunteer to be on the LBA executive, your child's team is another area to lend a helping hand.  Helping groom the field, keeping score, working the concession and selling 50/50 tickets assist LBA and of course, your team coach.

LBA has a main objective of providing a fun and instructional atmosphere for the children.  LBA strives to make baseball a safe and positive experience too!  We have a zero tolerance for any verbal or physical abuse toward any player, coach, umpire or another parent.  We expect our coaches to follow the same zero tolerance rule.  Coaches during the Spring baseball season will give all players equal playing time.  If you have any concerns that cannot be handled by your child's coach, please contact the correct executive coordinator.  Have a great season!
